Software for collection management
We do not extend any specific recommendations for software to be used in collections, however, we strongly urge newcomers to look at existing solutions and warn about under-estimating the costs of development. The uncritical listing given under http://www.bgbm.org/TDWG/acc/Software.htm  provides an overview of existing software. A more thorough overview will be forthcoming as part of the GBIF Best Practices "Handbook" prepared by the DIGIT work programme (see http://www.gbif.org). In case you plan to go ahead with your own solution, try to make sure that you can achieve field-level compatibility with (your subset of) the ABCD schema.
