Mora moro (Risso 1810)
Mora moro is benthopelagic and occurs in depths ranging from below 500 m to 2,500 m. The species is distributed in the study area from Africa, north to Iceland and the Faroes (Whitehead et al., 1986a). A member of the family Moridae, the main distinguishing feature of Mora moro is that the anal fin appears as two separate fins. Length ranges to about 60 cm (Whitehead et al., 1986a). Mora moro were recorded from the Theresa and Propeller Mounds in the Porcupine areas and in the Rockall areas during the Caracole cruise of August 2001.
